This is a great cake stand! I am an amateur cake baker and had just bought a wilton cake stand... worst mistake ever! They do not glide smoothly and will do a little jarring if spun too quickly.
After taking a cake class where we used this Ateco cake stand... I dont think I can ever go back! I got the smoothest buttercream sides that I could ever imagine... and this class was from Zingermans... very well known... so if they use these stands you KNOW its the one to use!
Great price... you find it else where for $80 which really is a huge ripoff but people are willing to pay the price for this awesome cake stand!!!

I gave this as a gift to someone who is a gourmet cook and had been wanting a nice revolving cake stand. He absolutely loves it and is so pleased with it. He says it makes decorating cakes so much easier. He checked out a revolving cake stand at Williams Sonoma and this one is exactly like the one in the store, only my price was so much better. It looks great and the base is nice and heavy! Couldn't be more pleased with the purchase!!

I can see why so many people love this turntable, it is heavy and durable looking. The one that I received had an uneven plate and a serious wobble. Even though I received a defective one I am still impressed enough to order a second one and give it another go.

Forget those cheap plastic cake stands found at arts and craft stores; if you do serious (or not so serious) cake decorating, you need this tool.
It's made of metal, thus heavy, so it won't slip. It's in two pieces for dead easy clean up. And it rotates effortlessly.
Yes, there is a less expensive model from the same manufacturer. It's plastic and not nearly as stable.
If you can afford this model, you won't be disappointed.
