I've been looking for a professional quality knife set (not made in China) for a while and this is it! I'm 99.9% satisfied with this purchase! I say 99.9% because while the case it comes in is cool, it's not very practical for me. I would have rather had a block to put them in. It comes with a magnetic strip that I would love to use, but unfortunately I don't really have the space to mount it... and my wife is getting tired of the case so I better get a block soon ;-)
I'm glad I waited to find something other than Henckels and Wustoff - both of which seemed too expensive for what you get. These knives are very high quality (made in Germany) and I'm sure they will be the last set I ever have to buy. I base this statement on comparison with the higher-end ($200+) Henckels/Wustoff. I would definitely make this purchase again and highly recommend this set.
... Now if I can just get my wife to stop throwing the knives in the drying rack with the silverware.

I've worked in professional kitchens in the past and appreciate the need for quality knives, but I couldn't afford the cost. I've had my Berghoff's for a couple of years now and I'm continually impressed. They hold an edge well. They are lightweight enough to prevent fatigue, but heavy and solid enough to seemingly cut by themselves. Now that I'm back in the kitchen, I'm using them more than ever. Best kitchen investment I've ever made.

This is great and unusual product for the traveling chef. The knives are tough and razor sharp. The handles are large and easy to grip when cutting that difficult cuisine. The Attache is high quality and includes two set your own combination locks.

I got these knives as a gift.....I am a chef and have been looking for a cheaper but good quality knife set, and for the money it doesn't get any better than these....I own some henckel knives and these are as good if not better than those...they are very sharp and seem to hold an edge very well...So if you are a chef or just someone who loves to cook I recommend you get these as a great addition to your kitchen!!!

I bought these knives for my Mom for Christmas, and out of the box, I was very impressed with them. However, I was waiting to review them until I got some feedback from her. She loves them, and I can see why. They are beautifully crafted out of top quality steel, well balanced and ergonomically comfortable, they hold a razor sharp edge, and the set includes a great selection of accessories. My sister screwed up and bought her knives too (Henckels International) which are now made in China, and my Mom chose to return those, if that tells you anything. These Berghoffs will last her a lifetime....
