our 13 month old loves this bookApr 18, 2010 My girlfriend loves sushi, but her doctor prohibited her from eating it while she was pregnant. I bought this book during her pregnancy as a joke, but it turns out to be one of our daughter's favorites. The bold graphics catch her attention and the rhymes maintain it. My one complaint is that the rhythm of the book is inconsistent: after the first seven pages, the amount of text per page doubles, which means that she wants to turn the page before we are done reading the text.
This author's books are very witty and fun for all ages.Mar 17, 2010 If you are a foodie and want to share your love of food with you little one these books are perfect. The art is a mix of paper cutouts and found objects and the rhyming story is very cute. You'll be repeating things like "Hola Jalapeno" to your little one with glee! I just wish this author would put out more of this series of books.
Still a favorite after 31 monthsMar 13, 2010 When I was pregnant with my daughter this was the first item I purchased for her. We have read it a ton of times. Now, at 31 months old, she has a pretty big library and this is still one she consistently pulls off the shelf for me to read. Whenever we go out for sushi she always says, "pink pickled ginger cools my tongue, wasabi HOT, HOT, HOT"!
Sushi Fun!Jan 16, 2010 I found this book in a funky little store in Nashville and bought it as a gift for my niece. The artwork is colorful and fun, the rhymes are great, and the concept is fantastic. My niece's mom ended up buying all of the rest of the books in this series, I like the rest too, but this one is by far my favorite of them all.

not as good as the others in the seriesJan 16, 2010 This book just isn't as good as the others in the series. I like the artwork with the seed beads as roe, etc. but the flow of the poetry just isn't all that.
The one I love is "Hola Jalepenjo". It's far better than this one.
