5Good tiools, good valueNov 30, 2008
By D. B. James
These olive wood utensils are just what I was looking for. They feel good in the hand, have a nice heft without being heavy, and are so fine-grained and well-made I doubt they will ever splinter or break. Like anything made of wood, they must be hand-washed but they clean very easily and nothing has stained them yet. I bought the 12-inch spoon, 12-inch pierced spoon, and 12-inch wide spatula and I'm pleased with each one of them. Good tools, and good value for the money.

4My favorite wooden utensilNov 20, 2009
By Sheryl
I've had this spatula for a few months now, and though I have some other wooden utensils, this one immediately became my favorite. It's the first one I grab when I cook.

First, it's beautiful - the patterns in olive wood are very unique, and I feel like I'm cooking with a work of art.

Second, the shape of it makes it very useful. The sides have a slight curve to them that fits the sides of my favorite pan perfectly, and it's the ideal thickness - neither too thick nor too thin.

It's also very lightweight, but yet it feels quite sturdy...like it will last a long time.

The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because the edges of the handle are sharply squared off instead of being rounded and smooth, and it makes it a bit uncomfortable to hold. I sanded the edges smooth and oiled it, and now it's perfect.

UPDATE March 22, 2011

Two years later and it's still my favorite. I use it for just about everything; it's gained a lovely patina and is still going strong! :-)

5one piece flat spatulaOct 13, 2010
By Garden Rose
This is one piece of wood. The spatula part is curved but not caved like a spoon, instead it's curved like when you're waving your hand goodbye or hello. I put mineral oil on it when I got it but I noticed it turns light colored when it's left in water for a day, but that happens to all my wooden utensils.

1Poor QualityMay 26, 2009
By J. C. McGrath "Just a Dad"
Face of spatula is edge glued. Not a single peice of wood, resulting in a edge or for better words crack on the face of turner. Your sponge will hang on it when cleaning and towel will do the same when drying. The edge becomes more prominent as it used and gets liquids on it. Not a good buy in my opionion. I choose as part of the 4 for 3 promotion in kitchen tools.
