Excellent recipes and techniquesOct 17, 2009 I have made between 15 and 20 of these recipes (far more than I have ever made from any other cookbook) and all have been successful so far. I have learnt new techniques and tried unusual combinations of ingredients and have loved every recipe so far. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I like the book so much that I plan to give copies of the book to my friends for Christmas this year.
very satisfiedOct 02, 2009 I am very satisfied with this purchase. It was bought as a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law but I have enjoyed reading it and have gotten some great recipes for myself from it. Thanks so much.

Borrowed this from a friend and just had to buy itSep 13, 2009 I absolutely love this book. Lots of easy recipes as well as more challenging ones that will appeal to a wide variety of cooks. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the recipe for Pappardelle with Rabbit, since I have pet house rabbits the thought of cooking rabbit disgusting. Otherwise a great book!

DisappointedMay 03, 2009 As a pasta lover and having heard raves for Johanne Killeen and George Germon's restaurant, I was really looking forward to this cookbook. I've tried several recipes and so far have been disappointed. While I appreciate that many of these recipes can be made in the time it takes to boil the water for pasta, most of the dishes I've tried have been a bit boring for my taste. I'm also puzzled by Killeen and Germon's method for making sauces with Italian sausage. Italian sausage is one of my favorite ingredients, but after trying the Rigatoni with Sausage and Ricotta and the Pasta Shells with Spicy Sausage Red Sauce, I've determined that their method of breaking up the sausage and soaking it in cold water for several hours before boiling it down, just doesn't work for me - the sausage seemed to lose its flavor and I missed the tastiness and texture of chunks of browned meat in the sauce.
I'll probably try another recipe or two, but I'm dismayed that I haven't found a winner yet in this book.
