It's OK, but not amazingSep 24, 2011

For the price, I guess I shouldn't expect more from this. The only thing I can compare this to is my grandmother's AMAZING carbon-steel pastry blender (it got lost after her death, though... *sigh*), which could cut through frozen butter and not bend or break.
The handle is wide, so it doesn't dig into your palm. Most of the little grooves and spaces around the handle are tight--where they exist--so this isn't a pain to clean. My main complaint is that this just isn't strong enough to handle well-chilled butter without bending the tines. It wasn't too bad, but I had to bend them back into place for the next round.

pastery blenderOct 16, 2010
By Janet C. Hancock I wore my old pastery blender out. So, I was looking for a new one. I reviewed many products and was looking for one that didn't cut into my hand as I was using it. I also wanted one that was durable, and dishwasher safe. This product meets all of the criteria that I was seeking to fill. It does a great job, with ease and comfort. I love that it is stainless steel also. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Nice and sturdy, works well and washes up greatOct 27, 2011

I see a lot of the old-timers and professionals on cooking shows using their hands to process butter or shortening with flour to make pastry. Not me...I don't seem to have the technique down, and the warmth from my hands seems to break down the fat. Using a metal pastry blender like this one keeps that warmth out, allowing me to cut down the cold butter/shortening and flour into the desired crumb size while not overworking. Being stainless, this item also washes up very nicely in the dishwasher, an added bonus. Love it!

By Lance Rivers Great blender. Easy to use and hold. I use it mostly to break up hamburger while frying it.
