Deglon 6-Inch PeelerSep 18, 2009
By Teddy Bear's Nanny This is THE BEST vegetable peeler -- simply THE BEST! I am truly obsessed with peelers, have about a million, and I have finally found THE ONE. It is sharp; the tip, which is useful for removing tomato cores, potato "eyes," etc., is sharp; the handle is comfortably large; it is altogether well-designed; and at this price, it is more than just "a good buy."
It's Okay But It's Too PriceySep 29, 2011
By DMR It's small, lightweight and fits comfortably in your hand. However after peeling 3 lbs. of carrots my wrist hurt and this has never happened with my old peeler - which dates back to the prehistoric age. The Deglon peeler doesn't glide as smoothly as my old peeler and the blade is flat as opposed to rounded. You have to angle it. The flatter you hold it against the vegetable, the thicker the shavings will be.
Also, the direction in which I'm accustomed to peeling is away from myself and I think this peeler does a better job if you peel toward yourself. I'll work with it for a while, perhaps I can find the right angle for it to glide more easily.
If you are going to give it a try, I'd recommend that you shop around, as this is priced too high for what it is.
