Awesome but Overpriced!Mar 27, 2010
By Cooking Novice I love this spoon! Great handle length and bowl size. Yes, it initially had a slight olivey fragrance when I first washed it, but with use that has sadly disappeared. When I purchased this in the middle of January 2010, it was priced at $9.50. Can't say I would buy it again at the overinflated price of $19.84 today! Spoon quality = excellent. Spoon price = now disappointingly overpriced.

great spoonsFeb 26, 2009
By S. Kennedy These are great spoons! Very handsome, tight grained wood , well made. They are an exceptional value. I have seen spoons of this quality in stores and on line and would have bought them but for the expense. These are at least as good, and better than many of the higher priced olive wood spoons i've seen.I am very happy with them.

Good tools and good valueNov 30, 2008
By D. B. James These olive wood utensils are just what I was looking for. They feel good in the hand, have a nice heft without being heavy, and are so fine-grained and well-made I doubt they will ever splinter or break. Like anything made of wood, they must be hand-washed but they clean very easily and nothing has stained them yet. I bought the 12-inch spoon, 12-inch pierced spoon, and 12-inch spatula (wide) and I'm pleased with each one of them. these are good tools, and they're good value for the money.

beautiful spoonJan 02, 2009
By B. Seeman THis is a great spoon and I couldn't believe the price. I almost bought one at Williams Sonoma for about 4 times the price and this seems to be almost the exact spoon. The weight is very nice, the color is beautiful. I have treated it with food safe oil a couple times, but I don't know that I even needed to do that. UPDATE: I noticed the price has significantly increased so although it's still a great spoon, please compare prices!

Cracked after a yearFeb 16, 2011

I ordered two of these spoons. One got heavier use (about 4x/week), the other lighter use (about 2x/month). Both were always hand washed. After a year, both developed large cracks in the middle of the spoon bowl - large enough to trap liquid food (sauce, soup). Before that, both were fine spoons - the bowl was a decent shape, comfortable to use, and durable enough for the relatively lightweight tasks I used them for (no mixing large bowls of heavy dough).
